Canyon Crest opens info center in Mesquite
December 3, 2005
Canyon Crest, a new community under development in Mesquite, recently opened an info center within the small city near the Arizona border.
“It’s been a while since a community of this size has come to Mesquite to build, and especially one with the quality and craftsmanship that the homes in Canyon Crest will present,” said Shannon King a spokesperson for the developer, Canyon Crest LLC. “In less than an hour-and-a-half, you swap the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas with the rural feeling of the city of Mesquite.”
The city is located roughly 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, just off of Interstate 15. It has about 17,000 residents.
Canyon Crest LLC is an affiliate of Winn Communities and River West Investments. Both companies are based in California.
The Tuscans neighborhood by Advanced Construction has closed three home sales. Its floor plans measure 1,938 to 2,554 square feet, and start from the $370,000s. Another builder, Matthews Land, plans to open its St. Andrews subdivision this weekend.
A nine-hole golf course within Canyon Crest will complete the second of two 18-hole courses at the Oasis Golf Club.
Additionally, the developer has set aside 10 acres for the city’s first Roman Catholic church.
Mesquite Mayor Bill Nicholes said he is delighted about the growth of the city, citing recent commercial development, as well as the debut of Mesa View Regional Hospital.
“We have schools, a senior center, county library, new city hall, swimming pool, parks, and all the conditions that make a city a great place to live,” he said.
An information booth is located to the right of the entrance to the clubhouse at the golf club. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays. Visitors can also pick up a brochure and view a video about Canyon Crest on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
To reach the golf club, take the interstate to Pioneer Boulevard then go north.
